Why do good people do bad things...and who said accountancy was boring?

One of the greatest pleasure in our working lives is helping to bring to life what can potentially be quite dry topics. And, in combination with the award winning content agency, Sunday , we get to do that twice a month for The Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales .

Presented by the inimitable Philippa Lamb and produced by the indomitable Natalie Chisholm, the fortnightly podcast deals with a massively wide range of issues in the profession, always with a sense of humanity.

And that humanity gives the editorial team permission to take on many of the more challenging topics, like the subject of fraud and the role that accountants and auditors have to play in spotting it and avoiding it.

This episode, which you can listen to below, is a great example of how serious isn't the same as po-faced, and without giving away trade secrets, the growth in audience figures seems to vindicate the team's approach.The body content of your post goes here. Saving the planet one last mile delivery at a time.

One of the real pleasures of what we do is finding out about businesses that are both successful in their own right and are helping in some way to save the planet.

MyFlexBox , owned by our client STAR Capital , is one of those. In Austria and Germany (so far) it is solving the thorny issue of last mile delivery the only way it can be solved - with proper infrastructure.

It is the sort of business that takes a lot of hard, often unglamorous, work to build but which, once properly established, can be a hugely successful, and it was a pleasure to have the chance to capture the team's passion for their project.

It was also our first opportunity to work in Austria. We are lucky enough to work all over Europe and beyond, and while the logistics can be slightly more challenging than filming in the UK, we are invariably welcomed with open arms and excellent English!

How do you crack America and Covid... at the same time?

When pet supplement maker Lintbells wanted to go from being an increasingly successful player in a small pool to a major player across the pond they turned to private equity, and Inflexion .

They already had a highly successful business in the UK with products like the dog mobility supplement, YuMove, but knew that many businesses have crashed against the rocks of the US, and that they needed outside expertise to maximise their chances of success. So they joined forces with Inflexion in 2017 and set off on the journey. And then Covid hit.

How they navigated those twin challenges is the subject of the fourth episode of Inflexion Point , the podcast produced by us about the moments in a company's life that catapult the businesses to a new level.

It's a pleasure and a privilege to work with Inflexion on this new podcast. We've worked with them for eight years on video porjects about their portfolio and the opportunity to listen to great businesses and help them tell their stories never ceases to inspire us.

The start of the new school year this week reminded us of one of our favourite films.

Bradfield College is a private senior school in Berkshire. Like many of its type it is committed to giving as many children as possible from less advantaged backgrounds the opportunity to learn and grow and what is an undoubtedly privileged environment. But unlike some of its more famous, or should that be infamous?, contemporaries, it doesn't have hundreds of years of giving to fall back on when it wants to offer bursaries of up to a hundred percent. So building up a bank of legacies from the wider Bradfield community - Old Bradfieldians, former and current parents, etc. - is a vital part of ensuring the school can keep doing this long into the future.

Our film was part of a campaign to build the legacy side of giving, and we wanted to capture the essence of both the school and what a legacy can achieve. And judging by the response to the appeal, we succeeded. There is no doubting that Bradfield is a privileged environment, and it was a privilege for us to play a small part in helping to make it more accessible.
